Wael Omar Abdeen

Wael is a dedicated lawyer, advocate, and leader

with a deep commitment to justice and legal reform. His career has been shaped by his belief in building a fair and democratic legal system that serves everyone.

From excelling in his legal studies at the University of Khartoum—where he graduated with honors—to furthering his expertise in international business law at the University of Manchester, Wael has always sought to use the law as a force for good.

As a practicing lawyer in Sudan, England, and Wales, he founded and currently leads the Sudan Commercial Law Office, providing expert legal counsel in areas such as public-private partnerships and infrastructure finance. His work has extended beyond the courtroom, serving as a member of the advisory committee for persons with disabilities at the British Council in London.

Wael has also trained with leading law firms in the UK, was a former member of the London Court of International Arbitration, and previously led the Association of Sudanese Students and Graduates in the UK.

A Vision for Justice and Democracy

Beyond his legal career, Wael has been an influential voice in Sudanese politics. As the spokesperson and coordinator for the Sudanese Shadow Government, he played a key role in shaping policy discussions. He also served as Minister of Investment, focusing on economic reform and attracting sustainable development.

Wael’s vision is rooted in building a modern, transparent, and democratic legal system. He believes in strengthening judicial institutions, ensuring fair access to justice, and upholding democratic principles as the foundation for a thriving society.
